George D. Wilcox was born in Rhode Island in 1826. He would study to become a Physician after which he married @1857.

George enlisted on 26 May 1862 in the 10th Reg Co F&S as Surgeon and was Mustered out with the Regiment in Providence, Rhode Island on 01 Sept 1862.
 
In 1881 George was in a partnership with William Barrows and Daniel Greene. Barrows, Wilcox, and Greene located at 77 Mathewson Ave in Providence, Rhode Island where he would remain although without his partners for the rest of his life. His home was 18 Brown Street in Providence, Rhode Island. He was a member of the Homoeopathic Society of Providence and the Consulting Physician at the Rhode Island Homoeopathic Hospital.
George Died on 22 July 1897 at the age of 71 yrs. He is buried at North Burial Ground in Providence, Rhode Island.
